Carnivorous Plant Help

In addition to providing content that is linked to my YouTube channel, I also want to use this platform to dive deeper with people through the written word.

With that being said, what caused me to get into this hobby in the first place? Well, I have always been obsessed with plants. As a young kid I remember being completely enamored by them. I had nothing short of an extremely difficult upbringing and I always looked to plants as a source of inspiration.

No matter what they go through, no matter what odds are against them, they continue to pursue life! Just when you think these things are down and out and there is no possible way they could come back, pop, there goes a new growth point!

This, coupled with their ability to make life so beautiful, has always been an inspiration to me.

So why carnivorous plants? Well, fast forward some years, like a lot of years. I was walking through a local farmers market and these other-worldly plant caught my eye. That plant was a nepenthes ventrata.

I instantly fell in love with it and inquired to its strange leaves. Once I found out their purpose I was hooked, no going back, forever locked in a dance with these plants.

As I researched them more, a whole new world opened up in front of me. No longer was I looking at earthly plants, but I was transported to another world, another time.

But soon there came a dark cloud that encroached. That dark cloud was the prospect of extinction for these alien beings. The more I dove in, the more disparate I became to save them.

It was if the plants called to me, pleading for help! It was a call that I couldn’t ignore and the more I advocated the more I became attached.

I am fully locked in at this point. Another willing victim to these plants. But I owe it to these remarkable plants to advocate for them and to inspire others to see the strength and beauty in them and plants in general. That same strength and beauty that I have so admired for decades now!
