About Carnivorous Plant Help

Hi! Glad you found this place.

About Carnivorous Plant help: I started growing carnivorous plants the way most people do: I bought a Venus flytrap on impulse, had no idea what I was doing, and promptly killed it.

Then I bought another one. And killed that too.

The frustrating part wasn’t losing the plants, it was that the information I needed was nearly impossible to find. Care advice was buried in old forums, contradicted by other forums, or buried behind jargon that assumed I already knew what I was doing. I spent way too many hours piecing together basic answers that should have been simple to find.

So I started making the videos I wish had existed when I was starting out.

What this channel and site are about

Carnivorous Plant Help is a YouTube channel and blog dedicated to making carnivorous plant care genuinely accessible for beginners, for people coming back after killing a few plants, and for curious growers who want to go deeper.

My approach is simple:

  • Explain things in plain language with no unnecessary jargon
  • Be honest about what I don’t know (this hobby has a lot of nuance)
  • Make it a safe, judgment-free space where you can ask any question without feeling embarrassed
  • Cover the full range from the most common beginner species to more specialized setups like grow tents and highland Nepenthes
  • Share the products and suppliers that have worked best for me

I’ve been growing carnivorous plants for several years now and I’m still learning. That’s part of what makes this hobby so rewarding.
